OPERATION CARE PACKAGE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
April marks 10 years of OCP sending care packages to our Military. What started from 3 large boxes & a trip to the post office, has now grown into an average of 160 packages per week & reaching over 10,000 at Christmas time.
A huge thanks to all of you, our supporters & volunteers for helping to make this happen.
We are still growing strong and have added on to our mission by helping local Homeless Veterans, Wounded Troops & providing supplies to other Veteran related projects when we are able.
We continue to be an ALL Volunteer Not for profit & it is truly an Honor to serve our Military in this small way.
THE JASON PROJECT
Jason Vazquez graduated Schurz High Scool in 2002. He enlisted in the Illinois National Guard soon after. Tragically, in Afganistan, on Sept. 17th, 2008 Jason was killed, when an IED hit the vehicle he was in.
In an effort to honor Jason, Schurz High School will hold a school-wide service project April 29th through May 10th. Students will collect items for US Troops & donate them to Operation Care Package to be included in packages to our Military.
The community & businesses are invited to drop off donations during this event.
